Deconstruct is a software conference curated by Gary Bernhardt. You know me from Wat and, with luck, from Destroy All Software screencasts and other conference talks. I've spoken at around fifty conferences, collecting a list of great speakers and organizing principles that work well.
Deconstruct is a language- and technology-agnostic conference focused on the act of programming as a whole: what are the problems and how can we solve them? Many other conferences focus on specific tools or technologies. Those are valuable events, but they are very different from Deconstruct.
Deconstruct is independent: it's both unsponsored and unaffiliated with any technology company. Speakers have been selected based on presentation skill (the ability to engage an audience) and depth (the ability to view programming problems from many directions at once, relating them all).
Deconstruct is organized by Gary Bernhardt and Brent Sullivan, owners of Conference Machine LLC in Seattle, Washington.
